Hi everyone!

What better way to kick off the Spring semester than by connecting in person with your fellow MN/PhD peers and faculty members?

Mentor Us, in collaboration with the Faculty of Nursing, is excited to invite you to our Third Annual Spring Mixer! This in-person event is open to ALL graduate students in the Faculty of Nursing — a perfect chance to socialize, network, and celebrate the new semester together.

Cheer on the Golden Bears & Pandas with Mentor Us

Join Mentor Us as we cheer on the Golden Bears and Pandas as they take on Calgary in volleyball.

Nov. 22nd at the Saville Centre: Pandas @ 6pm, Golden Bears @ 7:30pm.

Fall '24 Mentee, Mentor, Co-Director Applications

Fall Semester is just around the corner. Welcome to all incoming students and welcome back to all those returning!

We are looking for YOU to join us in mentee and mentor roles!

Mentees and mentors glean numerous benefits from having a peer connection through a shared experience, communication and leadership skills, giving and receiving feedback, and networking to name but a few. Plus we have fun 😊

We will be looking to fill three Co-Director positions this fall. The time commitment is approximately 1 hour/week. Must agree to a 2-year commitment with MentorUs. Interviews will be held for Co-Director positions. We are a small but effective group, come join us 💪

Orientation Day Student-Faculty Meet & Greet

Congratulations and a Warm Welcome to all incoming Faculty of Nursing Graduate Students!

After a long day getting acquainted with your program and the University - we invite you to come mix and mingle with fellow students and faculty members directly following the mandatory orientation. Past students requested an earlier chance to ‘put a face to the name’ of their peers and instructors, so Mentor Us and the Global Nursing Office have been collaborating to bring you this special late afternoon meet and greet!

Catering by Upper Crust: Fruit, Squares, Coffee/Tea

This is a free event! You will also have the opportunity to sign up for Mentor Us roles (Mentee/Mentor/Co-Director) and get acquainted with the Global Nursing Office. We can’t wait to see you there!

Get ready to shake off those study blues and join us for an epic Spring Mixer hosted by MentorUs! We're turning up the heat on May 8, 2024, at 4:30 PM, and you won't want to miss out on this extravaganza!

Join us for an unforgettable experience as we celebrate the spirit of community and collaboration at our 2nd annual MentorUs Spring Mixer. This is an excellent opportunity to build lasting connections, gain valuable insights, and simply enjoy the company of your peers in a relaxed setting. The event will include icebreaker games, charcuterie snacks, and door prize giveaways! 

Admission fee to the event is  $5, please pay via e-transfer to mentorus@ualberta.ca, but hey, if that's putting a squeeze on your tight student budget, shoot us a message at the same email, and we'll make sure you're not left out of the fun.

Mark your calendars and get those payments in by May 1st at 23:59 to secure your spot on the guest list. We're counting down the days until we can party with all of you!

Applications are underway for the Mentor Us 2023-2024 academic year. If you haven’t already, make sure you sign up to be a mentor/mentee/co-director.
